Posted by Best Western Siesta Key onNovember 20, 2023 in General.

The holiday season is upon us, so the pressure is on us to find thoughtful and creative gifts for our loved ones. Fortunately, you can have fun shopping this year on your Siesta Key vacation, thanks to the high-quality holiday markets in the area. From a vast collective of indie artists to cuddling with calves in tandem with your browsing, Sarasota has a diverse range of events that cater to everyone’s needs. At Best Western Siesta Key, we’re taking a closer look at five must-visit holiday markets and the additional activities that make each event a memorable experience.
The 16th Annual Atomic Holiday Bazaar at Robarts Arena
The Atomic Holiday Bazaar is arguably the most prominent holiday market in the area, a two-day extravaganza at the Robarts Arena in Sarasota. Open from 12 pm to 5:30 pm on Saturday, 11/25, and continuing at 11 am on Sunday, 11/26, this market promises a massive selection of art, crafts, jewelry, soaps, apparel, vintage finds, and so much more. The Atomic Holiday Bazaar is a celebration of all things misfit and one-of-a-kind, and the array of goods is as diverse as the talented artisans showcasing their creations. There are also food trucks at this can’t-miss event. Admission is $6 for adults, and parking is free. The first 100 “adult-ish” attendees with a paid ticket get a free swag bag at the door.
Craft Fair and Calf Cuddling at Sarasota County Farm Bureau Pavilion
For a family-friendly and wholesome experience, head to the Craft Fair and Calf Cuddling event at the Sarasota County Farm Bureau Pavilion from 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday, 11/25. This farm-oriented affair combines the fun of holiday shopping with the opportunity to snuggle with adorable calves. Browse through the 40 craft stalls featuring local artisans displaying their handmade goods. It’s a unique blend of holiday spirit, community, and a chance to support local farmers and artisans. Parking and admission are free, and food trucks will be on-site.
Punk Rock Flea Market at Oscura in Bradenton
For those with a taste for the edgy and exciting, the Punk Rock Flea Market at Oscura in Bradenton on Sunday, 11/16, from 12 pm to 6 pm is the place for hip folks to be. Embracing the DIY ethos and alternative culture, this market offers a curated selection of punk-inspired crafts, vintage items, vinyl and CDs, apparel, taxidermy, and more eclectic finds. From leather goods to creative art pieces, the Punk Rock Flea Market is a haven for those seeking weird gifts that break away from the mainstream. Admission is free, food vendors will be on-site, and local bands will provide live music throughout the event.
The Outdoor Holiday Market at UTC Mall
Get into the mainstream festive spirit at The Outdoor Holiday Market, set against the backdrop of the UTC Mall in Sarasota. Running from 4 pm to 9 pm on Friday, 12/1, and 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday, 12/2, this market transforms the shopping experience into a winter wonderland. Explore over 150 stalls offering holiday decorations, unique gifts, and handmade crafts. With fun entertainment, festive lights, and the delightful aroma of holiday treats wafting through the air, the UTC Mall is a hub of holiday merriment. Admission is free, and food trucks will be vending tasty dishes.
Downtown Market Holiday Shopping and Supply Drive
Concluding the seasonal shopping tour is the Downtown Market Holiday Shopping and Supply Drive. At 1549 Ringling Boulevard in Sarasota from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, 12/9, this fun and festive market stands out for its dual purpose. It offers a platform for local vendors to showcase their crafts, goodies, and wares and a supply drive to support those in need during the holiday season. The organizers specifically ask that visitors bring hygiene products for teenagers in state custody for the holidays, though they welcome you to contribute as you see fit. Admission is free.
Whether you’re drawn to the artistic charm of the Atomic Holiday Bazaar, the warm wholesomeness of calf cuddling, the punk rock vibe of Oscura, the winter wonderland at UTC Mall, or the giving spirit of the Downtown Market, there’s something for everyone. Ask the friendly staff at Best Western Siesta Key for additional details and tips for getting to the market of your choice.
