Spring Break for Families on Siesta Key
Posted by Best Western Siesta Key onApril 5, 2021 in Beach, Fishing, General, Siesta Key, The Beach, Things To Do.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable family adventure this spring break, Siesta Key is the place to be! With so many stretches of beach, family-friendly venues along Ocean Boulevard, and great excursions just off the island in Sarasota, your whole family will have the time of their life in the sunshine and balmy Gulf breezes along this barrier island. Stay with us at The Best Western Siesta Key so you’re rested and positioned to head out for a day of fun in the sun. We’ll also be happy to give you tips on our favorite locations, help you secure transportation, and help you unwind at the end of a busy day in our fabulous pool.
At the Beach
A visit to Siesta Key isn’t complete without a trip or two to the beach, and Siesta Key has plenty of them! Young children will love Siesta Beach, complete with plenty of parking, public restrooms, lifeguard stations, and a full playground. Catch the notorious Drum Circle on Sunday evenings for a complete experience. At the beach, your family can enjoy fishing from the shore or off the pier, swimming in the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico, or building sandcastles in our award-winning quartz sand. Sign up with Siesta Key Paddleboards to rent stand-up paddleboards and even get a family lesson or two before enjoying this new trend for yourselves.
On the Island
For a non-beach day, stop by Siesta Sports Rentals to secure bikes or scooters for exploring Siesta Key Village and all it has to offer. Stop by one of the many breakfast cafes, coffee shops, or ice cream shops for a treat before heading off again for shopping or just some fun sightseeing. Siesta Key Village is full of color and plenty of shops to explore. For an up-close look at some of the marine life you might encounter at the beach, make a trip across St. Armand’s Circle to Mote Marine Laboratories. Visit the largest (non-living) squid in existence and check out the glowing jellyfish, as well as the dolphin rehabilitation center. Learn about the creatures that inhabit our waters and how we care for them.
Around Town
Just across the bridge on the mainland, Sarasota offers plenty of family fun to keep your whole family busy. Jungle Gardens features botanical gardens along with wild animal and bird shows. Exhibits showcase the local flora and fauna of Florida’s Gulf Coast and bring our natural region to life for kids. For the more adventurous spirits, Tree-Umph Adventure Course is an elevated adventure park featuring ropes courses, zip lines, and suspension bridges for all levels of climbers. Get outside and get busy with the attractions you find in the Sarasota area.
When you and your family stay with us at The Best Western Siesta Key, you’ll find yourself centered among the best attractions in the area. Our easy access to beaches, Siesta Key Village, and Sarasota make our hotel the perfect location to plant yourselves as you explore all that the Siesta Key area has to offer. Talk to us about the adventures you hope to have while you’re here and we’ll be sure to make it happen!
