Where to Find Outdoor Activity and Watersports Rentals in Siesta Key and Sarasota
Posted by Best Western Siesta Key onAugust 14, 2020 in General.

When you visit Siesta Key, there are plenty of great ways to stay on the move- on land AND on the water. Whether you’re just looking for a fun way to play, seeking adventure, or want an inexpensive way to get around while you’re here, there’s something for everyone. Here at The Best Western Siesta Key, we’ve broken down our favorite rental spots for the various kinds of mobility you might be looking for while you’re here. Don’t see what you want on our list? Just ask us! We’ll be happy to help you find the perfect mode of transportation while you’re here.
Boats
Our favorite company for boat rentals in the area is Sarasota Boat Rentals. Here, you can choose between a 20’ or 22’ pontoon boat that seats your entire group, or a fishing boat if you’re hoping to catch some dinner! All boat rentals are for 8 hours, ranging in price from $225-$290 for the day. Before they hand the keys over, you’ll be asked to watch a safety video, sign waivers and provide a credit card that remains on file until you’re return. This is a great option for larger groups, those seeking to spend the entire day on the water, and anyone who came to Florida to fish.
Jet Skis
For an adventure on the water you won’t soon forget, check out Siesta Key Parasail and Jet Ski. Starting at $90/hr, jet skis are rented by the hour, usually up to 4 hours total. Cost includes life jackets, fuel, and orientation before taking your jet ski out on the water. Drivers must be at least 18 years old to rent, but minors as young as 16 years old are permitted to drive with an adult on the jet ski with them. This option allows you to roam in unrestricted areas in and around our coastline.
This is a fun, exciting way for older kids and adults to spend the day enjoying the sun and surf!
Kayaks
Our favorite kayak adventure company in the area is Almost Heaven Kayak Adventures. For just $35 for a half day rental or $45 for a full day (including all equipment and life jackets), you can explore local mangrove tunnels, majestic natural Florida foliage and the calm, clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Tour around the area at your own pace or join one of our guided tours to experience hidden areas you’ll love. Stop to picnic, swim or just enjoy the beauty around you. There are no age restrictions, and tandem kayaks can be rented for just $15 more. Bring the whole family out for a day of paddling and exploring.
Standup Paddleboards
If you’re eager to try the hottest new sport on the water, standup paddleboarding is your go-to option. We love iKayakSarasota for their low prices, family-friendly service and complementary lesson that gets you started. For just $40 you’ll get 4 hours with your standup paddleboard, paddle and life jacket along with a starter lesson to get you on your feet. From there, the whole family can enjoy a day on the water, exploring the Gulf Coast at your own pace.
Scooters & Bikes
While you’re visiting Siesta Key, you’ll quickly find that biking is the best form of transportation around. Our very own Siesta Key Bike and Kayak has over 500 bikes of varying types, including beach cruisers, aluminum and carbon road bike, tandem, electric and children’s bikes. All are professionally maintained and our road bikes even come with patch kits to keep you moving. There’s something for everyone and every plan. From $10-$20 an hour up to $45-$150 for the week, renting a bike is the most efficient and cost-effective way to get around the island while you’re here. Bike to breakfast, lunch and dinner, your favorite shopping spot or directly on the beach. You’ll love the time spent outdoors and cruise right past everyone else looking for parking.
To get the most out of your time on Siesta Key, check out one or more of these awesome rental establishments and get out there. Go at any pace you want, to create the vacation you’ve dreamed of. Whether you’re looking for high-speed adventure or a leisurely cruise on or around our island, get to know Siesta Key off, on or in the water. To find even more opportunities for fun, talk to the experts at The Best Western Siesta Key. We’re here to make your stay the best ever and we’ll be happy to point you in the right direction- wherever your adventure takes you!
