Siesta Key is one of the ultimate getaways, especially as it is home to one of the best beaches in America, according to Dr. Beach himself. Whether you are here on your honeymoon or with your family and are looking for a day to enjoy your significant other, the local experts at Best Western Siesta Key have put together the perfect itinerary for a whole day of romance. Starting with breakfast and ending with a magical sunset and dinner, there are many fun and romantic things to do and see with your partner while you explore the Gulf Coast.
Start with A Cozy Cup of Coffee
A sweet brunch or cozy cafe followed by a morning walk on the beach is the perfect way to start your day together. The Clever Cup provides a warm atmosphere that will inspire cuddles and cuteness first thing in the morning. Order your coffee, tea, pastries, or ham and cheese croissant to go so you can enjoy a romantic morning picnic or stroll on the beach.
Rent a Jet Ski or Tandem Kayak
Hitting the water in the morning gives you a greater opportunity to spot your favorite marine wildlife, especially in Sarasota Bay. Renting a jet ski is a fun and thrilling way to bond with your significant other, and you are sure to share a few laughs and screams as you zip through the water side by side. If you prefer to take things a little slower, renting a tandem kayak is another brilliant way to start your day on Siesta Key.
Grab Lunch Downtown
Downtown Sarasota has some of the best lunch spots near Siesta Key. From pasta at Clasico Italian Chophouse to sushi at Yume Sushi or Thai cuisine at The Drunken Poet to delicious barbecue at Brick’s Smoked Meats, you simply cannot go wrong. Stroll around the city and explore together, hand in hand, while you decide on lunch or window shop with full bellies.
Chill at Bayfront Park
After lunch in downtown Sarasota, you will be in the perfect location to take a minute and chill at Bayfront Park before heading back to Siesta Key Beach. Bayfront is situated perfectly on Sarasota Bay and gives you a fantastic view of the Ringling Bridge and a variety of boats. Take a short walk along the path that weaves through the grassy park or take a seat at O’Leary’s for a margarita and live music. Before you go, you must take your date to visit the famous “Kissing Statue,” also known as “Unconditional Surrender.”
Head to the Beach for a Breathtaking Sunset
Siesta Key has multiple beaches that offer gorgeous views of the sunset. However, Turtle Beach is one of our personal favorites to enjoy a romantic evening and get a front-row seat to Mother Nature’s daily art show. As the sky turns from a bright blue to pink, orange, yellow, and blue ombre, you will feel pure joy and peace while sharing a blanket with your sweetheart.
Plan a Classic Romantic Dinner
A romantic day on Siesta Key is incomplete without a stunning dinner date to finish the activities. Choose between a serene waterfront experience or an immaculate indoor ambiance to make you and your date feel like royalty. Seafood is an obvious choice when on a beach vacation; however, so many delicious and mouthwatering restaurants near Siesta Key are well worth it.
After a fun and beautiful day of romance, you will be warmly welcomed back to Best Western Siesta Key, where you can unwind at the Sand Dollar Pool Bar or head straight to bed for some much-needed rest. Either way, you are sure to end your date on a relaxing note.
